HashKey Exchange and Franklin Templeton to Bring OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund to Asia
HashKey Exchange, a licensed digital asset trading platform in Asia, has partnered with global asset manager Franklin Templeton to distribute its tokenized money market fund, Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund (grBENJI), to digital asset investors in Asia. The fund, which invests primarily in U.S. government money market instruments and U.S. dollar cash assets, will be available on the HashKey Exchange Earn Channel starting August 24, 2026. This collaboration aims to bridge traditional financial markets with compliant digital asset infrastructure, providing eligible professional investors with access to yield-generating instruments backed by real-world assets. Franklin Templeton expands its tokenized fund solutions into regulated digital asset markets across Asia, while HashKey Exchange strengthens its Earn ecosystem with regulated investment products.
The partnership between HashKey Exchange and Franklin Templeton to launch the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund (grBENJI) on August 24, 2026, marks a significant step for regulated tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) in Asia. This move directly addresses the growing institutional demand for compliant yield solutions within the digital asset space, particularly for U.S. government-backed instruments. For Hong Kong, this strengthens its position as a hub for regulated digital assets, offering professional investors a new gateway to traditional financial products via blockchain infrastructure. While the immediate impact is on professional investors in Hong Kong, the long-term implication is the potential for broader access to tokenized products across various asset classes and markets, including Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, and Bermuda, as indicated by Franklin Templeton. The key watch point is the scalability and adoption beyond money market funds, and how effectively this model can be replicated for other tokenized securities to truly integrate traditional finance with digital asset infrastructure across Asia.
