Exclusive-Anthropic, OpenEvidence partner to bring medical AI worldwide
Anthropic and OpenEvidence are partnering to deliver AI-powered clinical decision support to physicians in low- and middle-income countries. The initiative offers OpenEvidence's platform, which draws on peer-reviewed medical research, for free to healthcare providers. OpenEvidence reports 42 million consultations in August from US clinicians. The rollout targets about 100 countries, including Uganda, Angola, Sudan, Haiti, and Mongolia.
This partnership reflects Anthropic’s push into drug science and physical biology. Reuters reported last week on Anthropic building a lab for these efforts. This OpenEvidence collaboration extends that ambition into healthcare delivery itself. It is a concrete step beyond theoretical AI applications.

Local adaptation is key; OpenEvidence previously worked with Rwanda and Botswana to tailor tools for differing disease patterns.
