Daedong to Unveil Unreleased DJI Farm Drone at Korea Expo
Daedong is showcasing an unreleased DJI agricultural drone for the first time in Korea at the KIEMSTAR expo in Daegu, running November 4-7. Its largest exhibit will also feature the vision-based Level 4 autonomous HX AI Tractor and the RT100 farming robot, alongside other future farming technologies and services.
Daedong's decision to provide the first public showing of a new DJI agricultural drone not yet released in Korea at KIEMSTAR suggests a strategic role in introducing advanced aerial farming technology to the local market. While the specific model or the nature of Daedong's relationship with DJI is not detailed, this move could position Daedong as a key channel for cutting-edge drone solutions, potentially offering Korean farmers early access to tools for tasks such as crop monitoring or precision spraying.
The exhibition, themed "AI to the Field," highlights Daedong's broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence across agricultural operations. Its largest exhibit space will feature a hands-on program for its Level 4 autonomous HX AI Tractor, which was released in April. This program allows visitors to directly compare their simulated field work with the AI system's optimized paths, illustrating the practical differences and potential efficiencies autonomous operation can bring.
Beyond drones and tractors, Daedong is also demonstrating the RT100 farming robot in action, showcasing its modularity for various tasks, and introducing "AI Daedong-i." This farming assistant automatically writes field logs from a phone call alone, requiring no app installation or sign-up. Daedong plans to develop this service into an agricultural AI agent by accumulating farming data and collaborating with the Rural Development Administration, indicating a focus on data-driven AI application in farm management.
