Salesforce to Acquire Braze for US$5.66 Billion
Salesforce has agreed to acquire customer engagement platform Braze for approximately US$5.66 billion. The acquisition aims to expand Salesforce’s AI-powered marketing capabilities, particularly by integrating Braze’s real-time customer engagement technology into Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Salesforce's acquisition of Braze is presented as a move to enhance its AI-driven marketing tools. Braze specializes in real-time customer engagement across multiple digital channels, including mobile apps, email, and social media. Its architecture continuously processes customer activity, allowing businesses to adapt marketing campaigns and update customer profiles in response to live behavior.
A key aspect Braze brings is its 'BrazeAI' functionality, which optimizes content, offers, communication channels, and message timing. This capability is intended to strengthen cross-channel personalization within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and complement existing platforms like Data 360 and Customer 360. The integration could help businesses better connect marketing with sales and customer service by enabling real-time adjustments to customer interactions.
This acquisition fits into a broader pattern of Salesforce expanding its AI capabilities through both internal development and strategic purchases. The company previously acquired customer service AI company Fin for US$3.6 billion in September 2026. This suggests a concerted effort to build out a suite of AI tools that address different facets of customer interaction, from service to personalized marketing.
