Red Hat Opens New APAC AI Centre in Singapore
Red Hat has launched an AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore, supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board. The centre aims to help businesses across Asia Pacific transition from AI experimentation to production deployment, focusing on developing reusable software architectures and contributing to open source projects. It will also collaborate with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency on AI and cloud-native solutions.
The centre is designed to help businesses move from initial AI trials to full production. Its engineering teams are tasked with developing reusable software architectures and contributing to open-source projects. This work will focus on areas like system deployment, runtime optimisation, and platform management, aiming to provide standardized frameworks and tools that could streamline AI integration into existing enterprise systems.
Beyond development, the centre will offer expertise in AI and hybrid cloud technologies, assisting organisations with the complexities of deploying AI across varied IT infrastructures, including those that combine public and private cloud services. The initiative also includes support for local engineering skills development, which could enhance the regional talent pool available for AI implementation and management.
Red Hat states that bringing its engineering teams closer to regional customers and partners will allow their specific requirements to inform product development. This suggests the solutions provided will be tailored to local challenges. The collaboration with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency to explore and jointly develop AI and cloud-native solutions, including DevSecOps practices, further indicates a focus on robust and secure deployment methods.
