Naver Works Tops Korea Collaboration App Rankings for 9 Months
Naver Works, Naver Cloud's AI-powered workplace collaboration platform, has reportedly led South Korean mobile collaboration tools in usage metrics for nine consecutive months, according to Mobile Index data. In the third quarter, it averaged about 302,000 monthly users and nearly 500,000 hours of usage. The platform is also expanding its deployment to 18 central government agencies.
Naver Works has reportedly maintained market leadership in South Korea's mobile collaboration tool sector from January through September this year, topping metrics for monthly users, active devices, and total usage time. Mobile Index data for the third quarter indicates the platform's average monthly users were roughly double its closest competitor, with its usage hours 2.7 times higher, suggesting both broad adoption and active engagement.
Naver Cloud attributes the platform's competitive strengths to an integrated work environment, intuitive usability, AI capabilities, and security. The company states it supports collaboration features designed for varied public institution conditions, such as shift work and scattered worksites. Examples include its use by the Ministry of Justice and Korea Coast Guard to link offices with field operations and maintain work continuity.
The platform's expansion into the public sector is notable, with 18 central government agencies confirming deployment. This includes its selection under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's pilot "On AI" program, an initiative for intelligent work management. Naver Cloud claims to provide tailored collaboration environments for these agencies, covering functions like shift handovers and work record management, which suggests a focus on operational workflow integration beyond generic communication features.
The reported adoption by a significant number of government bodies, alongside its market leadership in mobile usage metrics, indicates Naver Works is demonstrating practical application in specialized public sector environments. A Naver Cloud official stated these findings show a broad user base and active use, aiming to further establish the platform as a choice for public agencies.
