China’s AI ‘little giant’ Yunxi Technology files for Hong Kong IPO: sources
Yunxi Technology, a Chinese AI firm designated as a "little giant," has confidentially filed for an initial public offering on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The Guangzhou-based startup, founded in 2016, was recently valued at 10 billion yuan (US$1.27 billion) in a private funding round. It is reportedly working with Bocom International to raise several hundred million US dollars through the listing. High-profile investors such as Jack Ma's Yunfeng Capital and HSG Capital back the company, which provides AI-driven digital growth products to clients in consumer goods, retail, real estate, and automotive sectors. The IPO is targeted for completion by the end of this year, though timing and size could change.
Yunxi Technology's confidential IPO filing in Hong Kong reflects a continued push by Chinese AI "little giants" to access public capital, even as market conditions remain cautious. The company's 10 billion yuan valuation and backing from Yunfeng Capital underscore investor confidence in its AI integration services for major industries like retail and automotive. This move suggests that despite broader economic uncertainties, high-growth tech firms with government recognition can still attract significant funding. The key watch point for this listing is its ability to meet the target of raising "several hundred million US dollars" by year-end. A successful IPO would not only provide Yunxi with crucial expansion capital but also serve as a barometer for investor appetite for Chinese AI startups in Hong Kong. The focus on end-to-end digital growth products positions Yunxi well within the enterprise AI sector, which continues to see strong demand across Asia.
