China Unicom and Huawei deploy 5G-A network at World Humanoid Robot Games
China Unicom and Huawei have deployed a dedicated 5G-Advanced (5G-A) network to support the second World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing. The network, featuring 100 MHz alongside a 300 MHz LampSite system, ensures low latency below 30 milliseconds and peak uplink speeds of one gigabit per second. These capabilities are crucial for the 2,056 humanoid robots from 666 teams competing in 51 events, which include complex tasks like table tennis and kickboxing. The system also integrates with China's BeiDou satellite navigation for precise positioning, demonstrating how 5G-A can handle demanding robotics workloads.
The deployment of a 5G-A network by China Unicom and Huawei for the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing offers a concrete example of how mobile networks will adapt to AI-enabled devices.
