VNTG Partners With Microsoft Korea on Manufacturing AI Transformation
VNTG, an IT affiliate of SeAH Group, is partnering with Microsoft Korea to implement AI transformation (AX) in manufacturing. The collaboration, established via an MOU, focuses on building and operating AI systems on factory floors, with Microsoft supporting technology development and partner recruitment, according to a report from Seoul Economic Daily.
This partnership outlines a comprehensive approach to integrating AI into manufacturing, moving beyond initial pilot projects. VNTG will manage the on-site deployment and operation of AI systems, leveraging its experience in factory floor AX. Microsoft Korea's role is to provide underlying technology and facilitate the expansion of the partner ecosystem, which includes connecting VNTG's startup investments with Microsoft's support programs.
The agreement details cooperation across four areas: establishing an AX execution framework, securing early projects and use cases, joint business development, and creating a partner network. VNTG plans to combine Microsoft's enterprise technology with its own solutions for data collection, analysis, prediction, and AI agent-based automation on factory floors. This suggests a focus on practical application and scaling proven AI solutions within manufacturing environments.
The collaboration aims to address the challenge of translating AI adoption into tangible results on factory floors. VNTG CEO Kim Tae-geun emphasized moving beyond AI testing to delivering concrete outcomes, while Microsoft Korea CEO Cho Won-woo noted the importance of depth of transformation over scale. This indicates a shared recognition that successful AI integration in manufacturing requires a blend of advanced technology and deep operational expertise.
