Timo Joins Top 10 Banks in Vietnam by Customer Satisfaction
Neobank Timo ranks sixth in Vietnam for customer satisfaction in 2026, entering the top ten. Its Net Satisfaction Score reached 80.6, an 8.4-point increase from 2025. This propelled Timo up 10 places in the Decision Lab Bank Satisfaction Rankings 2026. Timo, Vietnam’s first digital banking platform, operates under BVBank’s license and was acquired by Kredivo Group in May 2026. Traditional banks Vietcombank, Techcombank, and MB Bank hold the top three positions.
Timo's jump into Vietnam's top 10 for customer satisfaction is not just a win for a neobank. It highlights the competitive pressure on incumbents. Timo achieved an 80.6 Net Satisfaction Score, a significant 8.4-point increase. This shows that digital-native players can rapidly gain ground against established banks like Vietcombank, which scored 86.8.
The acquisition of Timo by Kredivo Group in May 2026 is the real story here. Kredivo, an Indonesian digital financial services provider, now controls a top-tier Vietnamese digital banking platform. This action strengthens Kredivo's regional footprint and positions it for deeper market penetration in Vietnam's rapidly digitizing financial sector. It points to a broader trend of regional consolidation in fintech.
The thing to watch is how traditional banks respond to this sustained digital threat. Vietcombank and Techcombank already invest heavily in AI and digital capabilities. Techcombank deployed over 55 AI models by late 2025, generating an estimated US$156 million in revenue and productivity gains. Further innovation is necessary to maintain their lead against agile digital players.
