TCL Industrial Museum marks brand’s 45th anniversary
TCL has inaugurated the TCL Industrial Museum in Huizhou, China, to mark its 45th anniversary. The museum, built on the site of its predecessor TTK, chronicles the company's growth alongside China's electronics industry, featuring over 3,000 curated pieces, including early televisions and a 2024 OLED 4K display developed by TCL CSOT.
The opening of the TCL Industrial Museum provides a historical perspective on how a major electronics manufacturer has evolved. By showcasing its journey from its founding in 1981 to its current state, TCL highlights its sustained presence in the development of China's electronics industry. The exhibits, spanning over 23,000 square meters, emphasize technological milestones and strategic adaptations.
The museum also illustrates a significant strategic shift for TCL in 2019, when the company restructured into TCL Technology and TCL Industries. This move established two independently operated entities. Reported revenue figures from 2019 to 2025 indicate that TCL Technology's revenue more than tripled from approximately $8.4 billion to $27 billion, while TCL Industries' revenue more than doubled from $11.7 billion to approximately $24.9 billion. These figures are presented as evidence of the restructuring's success in enabling growth.
Beyond historical preservation, the museum serves as a platform to communicate TCL's current brand initiatives. By connecting past achievements with programs like TCLArt, TCLforHer, TCLGreen, and TCLYoung, the company is extending its engagement across cultural, social, and sustainability domains. This suggests an effort to broaden brand identity and corporate social responsibility.
