Pine Labs, Stripe to Unify Online and In-Store Payments in Singapore
Pine Labs and Stripe have announced a unified commerce solution for retailers in Singapore, slated to launch in November 2026. The offering integrates Stripe's online payment capabilities with Pine Labs' in-store terminals and merchant engagement tools. This aims to provide eligible merchants a consolidated view of online and physical store transactions, with plans for broader Southeast Asian expansion in 2027.
The unified commerce solution from Pine Labs and Stripe addresses a reported operational challenge for enterprise retailers in Singapore. According to the companies, many businesses currently manage disparate vendors for online payments, physical store transactions, and additional services like instalment financing and analytics. This fragmented setup often leads to operational complexity, delayed reporting, and higher costs.
The joint offering combines Stripe’s online payment processing with Pine Labs’ in-store payment terminals, which accept credit cards, QR codes, and contactless payments. Pine Labs also contributes its suite of commerce tools, including multi-issuer instalment plans, pay-by-points options, and digital marketing features for promotions. The companies state that consolidating these functions intends to give merchants a single, unified view of all online and in-store transactions.
This consolidation is designed to reduce the reconciliation work and operating overheads that arise from managing separate systems. By streamlining payment acceptance and merchant engagement tools into one platform, the solution aims to provide retailers with greater control and real-time visibility across their business operations, as stated by Pine Labs CEO B Amrish Rau.
