OMODA & JAECOO To Showcase Purpose-Built L4 Robotaxi, Bringing A New Driverless Mobility Experience To Global Markets

OMODA & JAECOO plans to showcase a factory-integrated L4 Robotaxi at a forthcoming summit and will sign a strategic cooperation agreement with UAE-based K2. The vehicle is designed for end-to-end driverless operations, including autonomous deployment, repositioning, and self-service maintenance, and is engineered for global regulatory compliance.

OMODA & JAECOO's Robotaxi is presented as a purpose-built vehicle, developed from the outset for L4 driverless operations rather than as an adaptation of an existing passenger car. This approach, centered on "five native principles," suggests an effort to integrate autonomous capabilities deeply into the vehicle's design and manufacturing process, aiming for mass-production readiness.

The operational model described emphasizes a fully driverless service experience, from booking via a mobile app to automated hazard light activation and remote cabin temperature adjustments. Beyond passenger transport, the Robotaxi is intended to manage its own daily operational cycle, including autonomous deployment, repositioning, energy replenishment, self-service cleaning, and vehicle inspections. These capabilities are designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce operating and maintenance costs for scalable driverless mobility services.

Safety is addressed through a comprehensive management system covering six dimensions: full-cabin passenger protection, four-dimensional perception (integrating tactile, visual, acoustic, and wave-based sensing), algorithm training and decision-making, six-fold redundant execution safety, cloud-based behavioral safety monitoring, and fleet management. The vehicle's development also considers flexible localization across international markets, accounting for differences in traffic regulations, climate conditions, and network communications.
