OCBC Adds Hong Kong to Next-Generation Wealth Programme
OCBC has expanded its exclusive GENesis programme to include the children of high-net-worth customers in Hong Kong for the first time. This invite-only initiative, now in its third year, gathers participants aged 18 to 25 from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. The three-day programme focuses on entrepreneurship, financial planning, personal development, and succession planning, with over half of the participants coming from business-owning families. This year, OCBC also partnered with Singapore Management University Executive Development to offer a certified course on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Essentials, further enhancing the programme's value. The expansion into Hong Kong aims to foster stronger regional connections among future business leaders.
OCBC’s expansion of its GENesis programme into Hong Kong signifies a strategic move to cultivate the next generation of high-net-worth individuals and business leaders across key Asian markets. By focusing on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and succession planning, OCBC is not merely offering a wealth management service but is actively investing in the long-term economic resilience and leadership pipeline of the region. This initiative addresses a critical need for intergenerational wealth transfer and business continuity, particularly in family-owned enterprises prevalent in Asia. The inclusion of Hong Kong, a major financial hub, strengthens the programme's regional network and provides participants with broader exposure to diverse market dynamics and potential collaborators.
This move also reflects a growing trend among financial institutions to engage with the younger demographic of affluent families, recognizing their future influence and wealth management needs. By providing structured learning and networking opportunities, OCBC is positioning itself as a key partner in nurturing future entrepreneurs and leaders, thereby securing its own long-term client relationships and market share in the competitive Asian wealth management landscape. The partnership with Singapore Management University further legitimizes the programme, offering tangible skills and certifications that are valuable in today's dynamic business environment.
