Mercedes F1 Team Taps Stripe for Multiyear Global Payments Partnership

Stripe has partnered with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in a multiyear agreement to manage its global commercial payments, encompassing merchandise sales and international transactions. Stripe will begin rolling out its technology at key races during late 2026, starting with the team's retail experience, and its branding will appear on team assets from the first race of the 2027 Formula One season.

The partnership designates Stripe as the Official Global Payments Partner for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. Stripe, a technology company that provides online payment processing software and APIs for businesses, will support the team's global commercial operations. This includes handling merchandise sales and international transactions, indicating a strategic effort to streamline and enhance how the team processes revenue and financial exchanges across different countries and currencies.

Mercedes F1 Team Principal and CEO, Toto Wolff, stated the team sought to "rethink our approach in this sector," suggesting a need for a more adaptable and scalable financial infrastructure. Stripe's reported expertise in efficiently processing diverse payment methods and currencies internationally is crucial for a global brand like Mercedes F1 to manage and grow its worldwide fanbase and increasingly complex cross-border commercial activities.

John Collison, Stripe's Cofounder and President, noted Mercedes F1's "extraordinary standard of engineering and a relentless drive to improve," a combination he said aligns with Stripe's development philosophy. This collaboration aims to apply a similar methodical approach to the financial backbone supporting Mercedes F1's "next stage of growth" within a fast-moving and interconnected global market.
