Klook and Visa Team Up on Travel Offers Across Southeast Asia
Klook and Visa have partnered to offer travel experiences and cardholder benefits across Southeast Asia. The Memorandum of Understanding covers Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The collaboration includes creator programs, in-destination marketing, and integrating Klook's offers into Visa Destinations, Visa’s travel platform. Klook's existing Kreator Programme works with over 30,000 creators across 88 markets.
This partnership centers on content, not just payments. Visa is buying into Klook's creator-led travel inspiration model. Klook's Sarah Wan stated travelers increasingly decide "what to do before where to go," with creators driving these choices. Visa's Gladys Chan noted the journey begins "long before payment." This shows Visa views content as a critical funnel for transaction volume, not just a marketing channel.
For Southeast Asia, this means a tighter integration of travel content and financial services. Klook gains a powerful payments partner for its 30,000 creators. Visa extends its reach into the rapidly growing experience economy across six key regional markets. This directly benefits local creators in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, offering them more value and broader affiliate opportunities.
The thing to watch is how quickly this shared framework for travel creators scales. If Visa's network can significantly boost Klook's creator affiliate link performance on Kreator Shops, other payment providers will follow. The test for Visa is whether this collaboration drives measurable transaction growth through content, rather than just brand exposure.
