JSW MG Motor India Plans ₹6,000 Crore Investment To Expand Halol Capacity, Operations
JSW MG Motor India, a joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor, plans to invest approximately 6,000 crore rupees with its vendors to expand the Halol manufacturing plant in Gujarat. This investment aims to double the plant's annual production capacity from 110,000 units to 220,000 units by January 2028. The company is targeting 100,000 vehicle sales this year, up from 71,000 units last year, reflecting strong demand. This expansion supports the launch of new products like the Hector Tomahawk EV and PHEV, built on the new Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology (ADAPT). Discussions between JSW Group and SAIC Motor regarding an additional stake acquisition are ongoing.

While JSW Energy has commissioned cell-to-pack assembly lines, the reliance on external sources for core LFP technology remains a key watch point for the broader Indian EV sector.
