The HUAWEI nova 16s and nova 16s Pro introduce distinct camera capabilities and display technologies. Both smartphones share a 50MP front camera. For the rear, the nova 16s is equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and a True-to-Colour Camera, supporting 3.3x optical zoom.

The nova 16s Pro elevates its imaging system with a 200MP main camera featuring OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. This Pro model offers a slightly higher 3.7x optical zoom. Both devices support up to 100x digital zoom, suggesting a broad range of photographic flexibility across the series.

Regarding displays, the nova 16s features a 6.68-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The nova 16s Pro, however, comes with a larger 6.84-inch OLED display that incorporates a 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. This LTPO technology allows the display to dynamically adjust its refresh rate, which can contribute to power efficiency by matching the screen's refresh to content demands, potentially conserving battery life compared to a fixed rate.
