Honor Choice AI Projector Ultra launches with 1,700 CVIA lumens, 1080p, and AI image processing
Honor launched its new Choice AI Projector Ultra in China today. The new model costs 2,599 yuan, or about $365. This makes it Honor’s most expensive projector, significantly higher than its 599 yuan Firefly AI Projector Air. The Ultra features 1,700 CVIA lumens and advanced AI image processing. It supports 4K content decoding and HDR10, aiming for a premium home entertainment experience. The projector also includes an AI-powered air-gesture remote and an AI assistant for voice commands.
Honor’s Choice AI Projector Ultra is not just a consumer gadget. It is a clear push into AI-driven home entertainment. The 2,599 yuan price point positions it as a premium offering. This is a significant jump from Honor's 599 yuan Firefly AI Projector Air. The Ultra’s 1,700 CVIA lumens brightness is a key differentiator.
This launch reflects Honor’s strategy to integrate AI across its product lines. The Honghu Image Engine uses AI-based PQ algorithms for image processing. Its AI voice enhancement and virtual surround sound system, tuned by Vifa, also stand out. The move could pressure other Chinese tech firms like Xiaomi to enhance their own smart projector offerings.
The real test for Honor is whether its AI features can justify the higher price in a competitive market. The AI touch projection, combined with stylus support, offers a unique interactive element. This feature could drive adoption among users seeking more than passive viewing. We will watch for sales figures in China over the next six months.
