Homegrown Singapore Brand Radar Tyres Extends Its Global Sporting Footprint as Official Partner of Manny Pacquiao's Basketball League

Singaporean tyre brand Radar Tyres has announced a multi-year partnership with the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) in the Philippines. This agreement, signed with MPBL founder Manny Pacquiao, marks Radar's second major international sports deal this year, following its partnership with Cricket South Africa.

Radar Tyres, a Singapore-headquartered brand operating in over 80 countries, has expanded its sports sponsorships with a new multi-year deal in the Philippines. The company, which is the flagship brand of Omni United, has articulated this partnership with the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as aligning with its long-standing commitment to supporting athletes and communities.

This engagement appears to be a targeted market penetration strategy within a key Asia-Pacific market. Radar Tyres has been present in the Philippines for over 17 years. Its CEO, GS Sareen, stated the partnership is a way of "coming closer" to Filipino drivers, dealers, and communities. The MPBL, founded by Manny Pacquiao, aims to provide a platform for young Filipino athletes, and its games are broadcast on free-to-air television, suggesting a direct connection to a broad local audience.

The partnership complements Radar's existing portfolio of larger international sports sponsorships, which include Cricket South Africa and Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers. This indicates a dual approach to brand building, balancing broad global visibility with deep, community-level engagement in specific markets where a sport like basketball holds significant cultural relevance.
