GSMA to move its M360 Eurasia event to Astana in 2027
The GSMA will host its M360 Eurasia event in Astana, Kazakhstan, in autumn 2027, with Beeline Kazakhstan as the host sponsor. This move follows an agreement with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, shifting the annual regional forum from Uzbekistan after two years.
Kazakhstan's hosting of M360 Eurasia reflects its ongoing efforts to develop its digital infrastructure and policy. The country has been implementing new legislation and a national AI action plan, including initiatives like AI-Sana for skills development and Alem.ai for AI education and government applications. These programs suggest a coordinated approach to fostering a domestic digital economy.
The decision to move the event to Astana also aligns with Kazakhstan's investment in connectivity and data infrastructure. The nation is expanding 5G, has launched what it described as Central Asia's first satellite-to-mobile services, and is planning a data center cluster designed to scale to 1GW. Additionally, it is developing a trans-Caspian fibre route, indicating an ambition to serve as a digital link between Asian and European networks.
For the GSMA, centering M360 Eurasia in Kazakhstan keeps the event in a region where mobile infrastructure, regulation, and cross-border digital connections are central to economic policy. The forum brings together mobile operators, regulators, investors, and digital businesses, providing a platform for discussions on connectivity, digital inclusion, regulation, AI, and communications infrastructure tailored to regional market conditions.
