CXA Founder Rosaline Chow Koo Launches New Insurtech Covee
Rosaline Chow Koo, founder of CXA Group, launched a new insurtech startup called Covee. The company is developing an AI-powered platform for employee benefits, automating tasks like renewal and claims analytics. Covee offers portals for brokers, employers, and employees, including a Member Wallet for preventive services. This venture builds on Koo's previous work with CXA, which served one million employees and raised US$60 million before its planned liquidation in 2025.
Rosaline Chow Koo's launch of Covee, an AI-powered insurtech, is a direct response to CXA Group's planned liquidation in 2025. This is not a fresh start, but a pivot. Covee leverages the CXA model, focusing on AI to automate administrative tasks for boutique benefits brokers. The platform's ability to reduce repetitive work for brokers will be its core value proposition.
The move targets the Singapore, Hong Kong, and China markets where CXA previously operated. Covee's success hinges on its ability to attract brokers who previously used CXA's software. The inclusion of Wilson Wu, who developed CXA's China platform, suggests a strong focus on that market. This could make it a significant player for small to medium-sized enterprises in these regions.
The crucial test for Covee is its funding and co-development by BDV. This partnership needs to deliver rapid market penetration. The question is whether BDV's backing can overcome the shadow of CXA's liquidation. If it can, Covee could quickly capture market share from traditional brokers.
