Chinese firms driving global consumer electronics innovation, says IFA CEO
Chinese companies are increasingly driving global consumer electronics innovation, a shift noted by Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management GmbH. Lindner, with nearly 30 years of industry experience, observed this trend during IFA Berlin, one of the world's largest trade fairs for consumer electronics. He highlighted that Chinese firms like Xiaomi, Midea, DJI, and BYD have evolved beyond traditional manufacturing to lead in product innovation and speed to market. This year, approximately 900 of the 2,000 exhibitors at IFA are from China, accounting for about 38 percent of the exhibition space. The growing presence reflects a global industry shift, with Chinese companies also making significant strides in robotics and integrating electric vehicles into their broader ecosystems.

The blurring lines between consumer electronics, smart homes, and mobility, with companies like Xiaomi integrating cars into their ecosystems, also indicates a broader strategic direction for Asian tech giants.
