BYD to employ tech used for Japan-only mini EV on new European model

BYD’s move to adapt its Japan-developed X-Pack battery technology for a new European mini EV shows a clear strategy to overcome market entry barriers. The X-Pack, which integrates electrical components into a single battery pack, allowed BYD to meet Japan’s stringent kei minicar regulations for size and safety.
