Business News | Vaani AI Research Will Launch Self-Serve Platform to Build and Deploy Voice AI Agents on 29th Oct
Vaani AI Research, a foundation speech model company based in Bengaluru and Singapore, launched its self-serve developer platform on October 29th. The platform aims to simplify the building, deployment, and management of voice AI agents by combining speech models, telephony, and conversational infrastructure. It is designed to help teams deploy multilingual agents while retaining granular control over their behavior.
Vaani AI's new self-serve developer platform addresses the reported challenge of transitioning voice AI agents from successful demonstrations to reliable real-world performance. The platform integrates components such as speech models, telephony, and conversational infrastructure, which are often managed separately. This approach aims to streamline deployment for developers, startups, and product teams, enabling them to create agents via APIs or a configurable voice harness without needing to manage the underlying infrastructure themselves.
A central element is Vaani’s voice harness, an infrastructure layer reported to connect speech models with the systems required for production. This harness is described as managing inference optimization, memory, context, conversational orchestration, telephony, tool integrations, and human-in-the-loop workflows. These capabilities are intended to help agents handle complex interactions, such as callers switching languages mid-sentence, maintaining conversational context, and responding to unexpected inputs, which are common difficulties in live deployments.
The platform emphasizes multilingual support, a key focus for Vaani AI. Co-founder and CEO Tushar Shinde stated that a significant portion of the world does not primarily speak English, and many voice AI systems treat other languages as edge cases. By offering an integrated stack that supports multilingual agents with precise control, Vaani AI aims to make production-grade voice AI more accessible for businesses seeking to build customer interactions in diverse languages. Vaani’s infrastructure is already in use by businesses in India and international markets, and the self-serve launch broadens this access.
