Aspire Expands Beyond Payments With AI-Powered Accounting Platform
Aspire, previously a business payments provider, has introduced AspireBooks, an AI-powered accounting platform designed to automate bookkeeping and reconciliation. The service reportedly uses AI to classify transactions, suggest accounting categories and tax treatments, and match payments. Developed with Singapore Accountants, AspireBooks is now available in Singapore for S$39 monthly.
AspireBooks aims to streamline a traditional pain point for businesses by integrating corporate banking and accounting functions, which Aspire Co-founder and CEO Andrea Baronchelli noted have historically operated as distinct processes. The platform employs AI to automate core bookkeeping tasks, including classifying transactions, suggesting appropriate accounting categories and tax treatments, and matching payments against invoices and bills. This approach intends to reduce the manual effort typically involved in managing financial records.
The system is designed to update financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, as transactions are recorded, implying more immediate financial visibility for users. While the AI generates entries, users are still required to review and approve them, maintaining human oversight. Additionally, the platform's Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration allows users to query their financial data using plain language, potentially simplifying access to insights.
AspireBooks supports multicurrency accounting and has plans to introduce features for managing accounts across multiple business entities, addressing common complexities for growing businesses. Its development collaboration with Singapore Accountants helped ensure adherence to local accounting standards and supported customer testing for its initial launch in Singapore at S$39 per month, with an introductory free period.
