Anta’s multibrand strategy continues to deliver in H1 2026 as its AI ambitions take shape
Anta Sports reported a 12.9% year-on-year revenue increase to RMB 43.5 billion (USD 6.5 billion) in the first half of 2026, marking its first time exceeding RMB 40 billion in a half-year period. Operating profit climbed 16.1% to RMB 11.8 billion, with an operating margin of 27%, the highest in nearly seven years. This performance reflects the strength of its multibrand strategy, with growth across the Anta brand, Fila China, and other brands like Descente and Kolon Sport. The market reacted positively, with Anta Sports shares closing up 9.53% on the day of the results, pushing its market capitalization above HKD 220 billion.
Anta Sports' H1 2026 results show its multibrand strategy is delivering, with revenue up 12.9% to RMB 43.5 billion. While the core Anta brand saw revenue rise 4.8% to RMB 17.8 billion, its operating margin slipped to 22.5% due to a higher mix of e-commerce and directly operated retail. The company is actively expanding overseas, with plans for up to 1,000 stores in Southeast Asia and a new flagship in Los Angeles. The more significant development for Asia tech professionals is Anta's "AI 365" strategy. The company is deploying AI across design, retail, and corporate management. Its Linglong design model can generate renderings in 15 seconds, and Lingxi styling model offers virtual try-ons in stores. This investment in AI, alongside 2.5% of revenue spent on R&D, shows a commitment to using technology to improve product development, inventory, and customer experience, which is crucial as sportswear market growth slows.
