Yuno Expands Payment Options in APAC, Europe With Ecommpay

Yuno has partnered with Ecommpay to expand payment options for enterprise merchants operating across Asia-Pacific and Europe. The collaboration integrates over 100 global and local payment methods, including PayPal and Portugal’s MB Way, through a single API, according to the companies.

Yuno, which provides a single Application Programming Interface (API) to connect merchants with payment methods and fraud prevention tools, has enhanced its offering through a partnership with Ecommpay. This collaboration aims to provide Yuno's enterprise merchants, particularly in the retail and subscription sectors, with access to over 100 additional global and local payment options. These include established digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, card payments, instant payment schemes, and specific regional services such as Colombia’s PSE.

The stated benefit for merchants is the ability to integrate a diverse portfolio of payment methods more quickly, catering to customer expectations across various markets in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Mauricio Schwartzmann, Chief Financial Services Officer at Yuno, stated that Ecommpay also contributes its in-house fraud prevention capabilities. Furthermore, the partnership extends to offering open banking services in 11 European markets, which could enable new ways for customers to interact with their financial data and payment processes.

While Yuno and Ecommpay assert that this integration can lead to merchants going live faster and reducing transaction drop-offs due to a wider range of familiar payment options, these are presented as expected outcomes and not independently verified results. Roy Blokker, Head of Commercial at Ecommpay, highlighted the goal of reducing drop-offs when customers do not see a familiar way to pay. The actual availability of specific payment methods through this expanded network is also noted to vary by market and provider, suggesting that not all options will be universally accessible to every merchant.
