Two security vendors put OpenAI's cyber models into exploit prioritisation in two days
SentinelOne and Sophos have both integrated OpenAI's cyber models into their exposure prioritisation services. SentinelOne expanded its Wayfinder Frontier AI Services with OpenAI's Daybreak models, specifically GPT-5.6-Cyber, to enhance code risk analysis, compromise assessment, and malware analysis. Sophos is building an Exploit Path Verification capability into Sophos Managed Risk, also using the same OpenAI models through the Daybreak Defense Network. Both companies aim to address the challenge of vulnerability backlogs by identifying exploitable exposures. Neither product is generally available yet, with SentinelOne in private preview and Sophos announcing future availability; pricing and specific customer details were not disclosed by either vendor.
The integration of OpenAI's cyber models by SentinelOne and Sophos into their security offerings points to a growing trend in enterprise AI adoption. Both companies are using OpenAI's Daybreak models, including GPT-5.6-Cyber, to improve vulnerability management by focusing on exploit prioritisation. This move suggests a shift towards AI-driven proactive defense, moving beyond traditional vulnerability scanning to assess actual attack paths. For Asia, this development means that advanced AI-powered cybersecurity tools will likely become more prevalent, particularly in markets with high rates of digital transformation and increasing cyber threats. While specific availability and pricing for India and other Asian markets remain undisclosed, the underlying technology could offer significant benefits to businesses struggling with large vulnerability backlogs. The key watch point is how these models perform in real-world scenarios against sophisticated threats, especially given that neither product is generally available yet.
