Mambu Expands Global Payments Reach with Swift Business Connect Certification
Mambu, a cloud banking platform, has achieved certification as an Enabler of Swift’s Business Connect and Value-Added Services. This certification allows Mambu to offer financial institutions fully managed access to Swift’s global financial messaging network, eliminating the need for them to operate dedicated infrastructure or rely on legacy services. Integrated into the Mambu Payments Hub, this capability enables banks and fintechs to manage cross-border and domestic payment flows from a unified platform, supporting various international payment use cases such as correspondent banking and direct access to market infrastructures. Mambu will handle the infrastructure, security, and compliance aspects of Swift connectivity for its clients, with BankB already utilizing the service for SEPA payments and several other institutions in the process of onboarding.
Mambu’s Swift Business Connect certification is a significant development for Asia’s financial technology landscape, particularly for neobanks, fintechs, and electronic money institutions seeking to expand their global payment capabilities without the heavy operational burden. By providing fully managed access to Swift’s network, Mambu democratizes access to critical global financial infrastructure, which was traditionally the domain of larger, established banks. This move can accelerate the adoption of modern cloud-native payment solutions across the region, fostering greater competition and innovation in cross-border transactions.
For Asian markets, where cross-border trade and remittances are vital, this offering simplifies the technical and compliance complexities associated with international payments. It allows emerging financial players to focus on product innovation and customer experience rather than infrastructure management. The ability to manage diverse payment flows from a single platform also enhances operational efficiency and consistency, which is crucial for scaling businesses in a fragmented regulatory environment. This trend towards outsourced, managed connectivity solutions will likely see more financial institutions in Asia embracing cloud platforms to modernize their payment infrastructure.
