Cervoz Launches MIL-STD-810H M.2 NVMe SSDs for Mission-Critical Embedded Systems
Cervoz Technology has launched new M.2 NVMe SSDs, the T449 and T459 Series, designed for embedded systems in defense, aerospace, transportation, and industrial automation. These SSDs comply with MIL-STD-810H standards for environmental resilience and offer hardware-based data security features, including physical destruction capabilities, according to the company.
The T449 and T459 Series SSDs are engineered to withstand extreme conditions, meeting MIL-STD-810H requirements for vibration, shock, and temperature-altitude testing. This focus on ruggedness, including features like Anti-Vibration Fill and optional Conformal Coating, directly addresses the operational challenges of embedded systems in demanding environments, where standard storage solutions might fail.
Beyond durability, Cervoz emphasizes data security through hardware-based mechanisms. The inclusion of Write Protection, Quick Erase, and a "Physical Destroy" function, which electrically burns out the NAND Flash controller and memory cells, highlights a response to stringent security protocols in sectors like defense. This level of physical data sanitization goes beyond typical software encryption for critical applications.
The SSDs also deliver PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe performance, with reported read speeds up to 5,085 MB/s and write speeds up to 4,765 MB/s. Combined with features like industrial 3D TLC NAND, error correction, and wear leveling, the T459 Series further integrates Over-Provisioning and Dynamic SLC Write Cache to sustain performance and endurance during continuous, write-intensive workloads common in AI edge platforms and industrial data logging.
With capacities up to 2TB and wide temperature options, these devices are positioned for mission-critical applications where data integrity, physical security, and operational reliability in harsh settings are paramount. The design choices reflect an understanding of the specific demands of embedded systems in defense, aerospace, and industrial automation.
