    About

NEORT++ presents a two-part talk event in conjunction with the exhibition "Any% Multideveloper: Reality in Polyphony" (August 21 – September 6, 2026). The exhibition explores a present in which game-like structures — location-based apps, social media timelines, digital infrastructure — permeate everyday life, blurring the "magic circle" that once separated play from reality, and positioning visitors not as spectators but as players. This talk places that perspective within a longer historical arc: from the "gamification of art" attempted by Fluxus artists such as Takako Saito, to Pop Art's intersection with games against the backdrop of mass culture and consumer society, and on to today's game and net culture. Together with our audience — on site and online — we will trace the polyphony of gameness: multiple eras, multiple voices, layered and resonating. Part 1 will cover the curatorial concept, featured works, and the connection to Fluxus, with speakers Yusuke Shono (Chief Curator, NEORT), EXCALIBUR (Exhibition Curator), and Eiichiro Fukase (Takako Saito collector), moderated by Nori (NEORT). Part 2, the WARHOLS Session, will examine the relationship between Pop Art and games, with Andy Warhol as its central figure, traversing the 1960s through to today's game-infused reality. Featuring WARHOLS = Hitoshi Odajima, Kiyoshi Kusumi, Suzy Amakane, Eiichiro Fukase, and moderated by Eiichiro Fukase. The event will be livestreamed on the NEORT YouTube channel.
