Singapore Businesses Can Earn Up to 1.5% on Idle Cash With Chocolate Finance
Chocolate Finance has launched Chocolate Business, a new cash management account for Singaporean companies. This service allows businesses to earn up to 1.5% per annum on idle cash, with funds remaining accessible without fixed tenures. Companies can deposit funds via FAST or PayNow, with no minimum or maximum requirements, and withdrawals are processed within one to two business days without penalties. The offering aims to provide better returns than traditional bank accounts, building on Chocolate Finance's consumer platform which has managed S$1.6 billion in assets for over 150,000 customers. The official launch is scheduled for The Business Show Asia on August 26 and 27, 2026.
Singapore's Chocolate Finance is expanding beyond its consumer base with Chocolate Business, a cash management account for companies. This move directly addresses a common pain point for SMEs in the region: low returns on operational cash. The 1.5% per annum offering, coupled with flexible access, presents a tangible alternative to traditional corporate bank accounts that often yield negligible interest. While the 1.5% return is attractive for idle capital, the key factor for businesses will be the speed and reliability of withdrawals, especially for critical operational needs like payroll. Chocolate Finance's reported S$1.6 billion in assets under management from its consumer platform suggests a degree of operational maturity, but the corporate segment brings different demands for liquidity and regulatory oversight. The real test will be how quickly and consistently the platform handles large-scale corporate transactions and maintains its promised accessibility.
