Tsing Micro nears becoming China’s first listed reconfigurable chip company
Tsing Micro, a Chinese semiconductor company specializing in reconfigurable chips, is on the verge of becoming the first listed company in China focused on this non-GPU chip architecture. The company has completed its IPO counseling process and is now in the acceptance stage for a listing on the ChiNext board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Founded in 2018, Tsing Micro develops Reconfigurable Processing Units (RPUs) designed for AI computing centers, large models, autonomous driving, and smart manufacturing. Their chips offer a unique approach to AI acceleration, aiming to combine the flexibility of GPUs with the energy efficiency of dedicated AI chips like TPUs. Tsing Micro has already mass-produced its TX8 series for cloud computing and TX5 series for edge computing, with over 30 million units shipped.
Tsing Micro’s impending IPO signals a significant advancement in China’s domestic semiconductor industry, particularly in the realm of AI-specific hardware.
