China’s AI outpaces global rivals but trails in trust, survey shows
A new survey by London-based consultancy Public First reveals that Chinese artificial intelligence models are widely perceived as global leaders, even in nations considered key US allies. The poll, which gathered insights from over 18,000 individuals across 15 countries, found that respondents in 11 of these nations acknowledged China's AI dominance. Despite this recognition of technological prowess, the survey also highlighted a significant challenge for China: a notable lack of trust in its AI models among global populations. This disparity between perceived capability and public confidence presents a complex dynamic for China's ambitions in the global AI landscape.
