Standard Chartered Names Shebani Baweja as Group Chief Data Officer
Standard Chartered has appointed Shebani Baweja as Group Chief Data Officer, effective immediately. Based in Singapore, Baweja will report to Alvaro Garrido, Chief Operating Officer for Technology & Operations and Chief Information Officer for Information Security & Data. Her role will encompass leading the Group Data Office, overseeing data governance and management, and executing the bank’s data strategy, including strengthening data foundations and expanding analytics use. With over 20 years of experience in data-led digital transformation, Baweja previously served as Chief Information Security Officer for Wealth and Retail Banking and International Markets at Standard Chartered.
