Huawei Cloud is shifting its artificial intelligence strategy away from the token price wars dominating China’s AI cloud market. Instead of competing on low-cost tokens, the company is focusing on the “health of tokens” and their ability to drive enterprise productivity gains. This new paradigm, dubbed “Agentic Infra,” emphasizes domestic computing infrastructure and a full stack of AI services built on Huawei’s Ascend ecosystem. The goal is to provide a distinct technical route for AI development, prioritizing vertical industry applications and secure, efficient agent-based solutions over raw token volume and price. Huawei Cloud aims to foster an open ecosystem for AI agents, collaborating with over 20 model developers.
